I read that pirate DVD's or CD's that can be poorly recorded can harm the lens of a player.....
This is because or a "poorly" recorded code..... ????
    Could this be true?

As far as I know, poorly made DVDs, pirate or not, can hurt your EYES.

I like Chinese movies. I find that poor quality DVDs more hurt your eyes and ears than anything else. Watching American movies, we get spoiled as most DVDs are digitially remastered.

Sometimes Chinese movies just use DVD as another recording format and they are quite frankly of poor quality. The VHS, VCD, DVD all look the same. Not so good sometimes.

I have a couple of Chinese movies where the VCD version is BETTER than the DVD.

But I don't mess around with pirate. Most movies are priced very reasonably to why bother with pirate?

Thanks for your answer, I do not use pirate DVSs or CDs, but I saw a newspaper article that said there was a great risk of damaging the readers lens, I was worried because I burn my CDs and it made me think that could be dangerous for the machine...
