    I realised this morning that I have Skype pinned to my taskbar but it shows as <nothing>. Clicking on the "nothing" icon launches Skype. I have moved it from the right-most icon so I'm reminded it's still there.

    If I left-click it, it launches;
    if I right-click it, I get two options - "Skype" and '<pin lying flat" Pin to Taskbar".

    If I right-click on "Skype", I get a menu of "nothing". This means I cannot change the icon back to what it should be!!

    How can I change the icon? Other option is that I remove it from the taskbar then re-pin it..... but I can't remove it!!

    Does anyone know how I can fix this annoying "nothing" gap? Many thanks.

    Hi Ludwig. I would just unpin the empty taskbar icon and re-pin it and see if that icon gets restored by pinning a new Skype shortcut to your taskbar.

    Hi Ludwig, In W10 > Start > scroll down to Skype (Blue icon) > RIGHT click and expand More > click on App setting > you now have choices to REPAIR/Reset/Terminate/Uninstall.
    Have you tried the Repair option?

    REPAIR made no difference.
    I want to avoid the drastic measure of "Uninstall" if I can, but may need to go that way if no other option available (or just remember there's an App there with no icon thus explaining the blank space on the taskbar).

    Thanks for the links provided. Went to try those suggestions today (Friday).

    Found taskbar Skype has fixed itself without any intervention :mad: -- it now has the icon and expected options show when you right click on it!?!! Weird just coming back on it's own.

    So now I don't know what solved it, but at least it's telling me what that "space" on the taskbar is occupied by [Skype] :D
