I have a floppy which was made by my son of pictures and he used Pixela ImageMIx he zipped them using win zip and than put it on a floppy.
I got the floppy and opened the win zip file to my unzipped file and it just has photos listed when I try to open it it says no viewers for this would you like to try default I do that and it all comes out in a code.
Not sure what happened when he zipped it but maybe no photos are on the disk it says when I do properties it says the type is .
    AVG Update Control File
Than it says the MSDOs name is photos CTF.
Can you please explain if this is just a bunch of junk that was saved or is it pictures. curious to know.
Really wanted the pictures but maybe they weren`t saved right. Thanks if anyone can help.

    Hi maryelle
Do you have Pixela ImageMIx installed on your machine?

It looks like the file extension ctf has been associated with AVG, rather than your image editor. Are you able to right click on the file...and choose "Open with "? Then go down the list and find Pixela?

What Daisy means, is go to the unzipped files that shows the ctf extension. Then right click on the file while holding the shift key down, select "open with ", scroll down until you see Pix imaging, then select ok.

Oh no I can open the win zip its just that I thought maybe when it was zipped it was done wrong and their would be someway with the win zip to change it back but guess not.
I still can`t open it as it just has open and than goes right into no program available to open this do you want to try your default and than I do that and thats when all the garbled things show up says it could be hidden files or read only. But all I see is garbled things so I guess in a way its opening but not to anything that is useful.
But it could be it was zipped wrong and all the pictures are lost forever. It does say they are ctf photos though

    I've still got faith........ :)

    Single-click a file.
Hold the Shift key while right-clicking the file.
    Select "Open With... "
Select the program you want to use to open your pictures with.
Place a check mark next to "Always use this program to open this type of file" if you want to permanently change its file association. Otherwise, this will be a one-time solution.
    Click OK.

I tried to open with quick time and it says it is not a file that Qucik time understands.

If I remember correctly, Quicktime will not open image files, just movie video. Give it back to your son and have him do it again. He may have messed up on his end.

Thanks for help I tried lots other photo programs including the Pixella Image mix which the photos were originally done on but none worked I even sent it to adobe but no luck.
I would have got my son to do it over long ago but his computer crashed and everything was lost and he had a CD made of the pictures and when he moved he lost that this is why I wanted to get it opened so bad no one has the pictures.
I think maybe it was zipped wrong and in some kind of a foreign code or something.
I do appreciate you trying to help but guess its a lost case.
