   I am trying to view some photos on a CD which was saved in a windos movimaker format, but whin I open the cd- it is tring to install "photogallery" then it get to a point where it is asking to insert cd with photogallery msi?

   AFAIK photogallery.msi is software associated with HP printers - you presumably have one and photogallery.msi should either have been installed with the printer or will be found on the printer CD.
   
   Have you tried opening the CD in Windows Movie Maker?
