While not critical I like having my photos as a screensaver and this option will not work. I point to the proper folder and have added permissions. But still won't work. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Works for me. Have you tried several times? Most errors come from missing a step. Unless you describe the steps you've taken, difficult to be of help.

Check the folder in explorer.exe set to show thumbnails to be sure the pics are really there.

    screensaver vista

    • To setup the screensaver I right clicked on the desktop
    • selected personalize
    • selected second choice and pointed to folder with pics (not default folder)
    • main folder when selected gives error - slideshow does not work
    • when I select a subfolder and preview and test the screensaver works fine
    any suggestions? thank you!

Sounds like the pics are in the folder that works. True? You have to have the correct address to the pics; windows is not designed to look in a subfolder.

    screensaver vista

Got it working in a folder on an alternate partition to the C:\ drive which was my original intent.
Problem was in the properties - Customize - tab. needs to define the contents as pictures and videos. once I did that it worked...thanks for assistance.
