I use Win2k because it's by far the best OS for intense Digital Audio editing and processing. However, as many of the Pro Audio hard disk h'ware and s'ware recording mfr.s have discovered and advised changes for, the ACPI mode has quite undesirable results with the IRQ- sharing feature. So, I've made that change to Standard PC mode.

Having said that, I don't know if that's any of the cause for this other problem. Since I've made that change, everytime I bootup I'm prompted to install a PCI & Video Controller. This, despite the fact that my monitor, video adaptor, AND Multimedia Cntrllrs are ALL working properly. So, what could it be?

    Thanks,

    George Lea

sounds like a motherboard driver problem, get your mobo drivers from the manufactures website, might help
