    Vista Home Premium.
I wanted to check my firewall (Windows firewall) log file.
    I went to:
    ...windows\system32\log files\firewall
    but it's not there.
I can't find any option to turn logging on/off.

    Hello Broni,

    Hello Broni,

To turn logging on/off, or to change the location:

Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Windows Firewall with Advanced Security > Windows Firewall Properties > Profile tabs > Customize button under the Logging section under each of the profile tabs.

  3. to hide this advert.

I saw them before, but I wasn't sure.
I have couple of extra questions, though.
    There are two settings there:
    - Log dropped packets (does it mean blocking outside intrusion?)
    - Log successful connections (is it worth to track it with broadband?)
And in general, is it worth to keep those logs?

    Hi broni,

I log the dropped packets - connections that are blocked. I keep the size of the file at a MB.

Never bothered to log connections - don't see the point.

I've been using this then free Vista FW add-on since January: http://www.sphinx-soft.com/Vista/ A lot more control.

Don't know what the free versions are like now though.

They still have a free version, but its features compare to "Plus" version are worthless.
