These are nits i know, but a solution would be nice, If one is available.
They are the same if i use windows classic or xp formats.

    My pet peeves about winXP:
#1. Folder views - i'm always changing the open window dimensions
because windows always goes back to its default (eventually). I've
done the Tools>Folder Options>View>Apply to all folders so many times
i can do it in my sleep.
Is there a way (other than above, to lock in the dimensions, location
of an open window (no matter how many times i open it)?

#2. Inserting a CD or Turning on a external HD (USB). That stupid
window keeps poping-up asking me what i want to do with it (Play, open,
Take no action, etc). Plus, with the external HD, i always get a small
window called "Autoplay" that is scanning the HD before i get the "Take
no action" window. I have run through the Properties>Autoplay options
many times but again it doesn't retain the settings (a reboot swaps back
    to the default).
Is there a way to lock in these settings?
