PestPatrol Issues

I have installed the PestPatrol Corporate centraly managed product at our office r5.2.3. I have not yet committed to the product yet. We are having some problems.

The pestpatrol agent PPMCActiveDetec is a service running under Task Manager (windows 2000) on the local machines. This little bugger consumes a lot of resources (21605k).

Internet speed is being affected...ie slower. Each time I go to a new internet page, CPU usage jumps to 50 %.

On one of our machine's, simply trying to open a folder in windows explorer brings the system to it's knees. I had to disable the PPMCActiveDetec sevice for this particular machine.

Anyone else having problems ??

If any of the admins for this forum reads this, it should definitely become a sticky in the forum head section.

For n00bs (no disrespect intended) this is not 5 minute reading, but rather well worth the time to investigate.

I am personally looking for an enterprise level product, which is why I looked into PestPatrol. The pre-CA version I beleive was standalone. CA has a version called PestPatrol Cordporate "Managed Console" R5.2.3. The "Managed Console" is not well publisized, so make sure you get what your asking for. I am currently in the process of returning a 25 pack back to CDW because the product was not clearly explained at the time of purchase.

My initial experience so far with the Corporate Managed version is a little buggy, but still fairly through. However, the customer support is seriously lacking

If anyone else has personal experience with another vendors managed product, I'd like to hear about it.
