    Running Vista Ultimate 32bit on a ThinkPad T61 - Core 2 Duo / 2 Ghz / 2 Gig RAM

I have 2 user accounts, both admins

When I set the resolution on one user the other user's resolution is changed to the same settings.

I have never had to have two users before but shouldn't unique resolution settings be saved per user?

    Thanks

Don't know with Vista, but with XP you can have only one resolution which is applicable to all the users logging on.

    Thanks, that's my fear.

One would think that with all the technology MS has poured into Windows they could separate the screen resolutions by user...???

Screen resoloution is a system setting - user accounts are basically about access and permissions for, e.g., to change system settings :)

    Thanks Pete.

Maybe you could get them to work on the concept :)

Who knows what Windows 7 will bring :) - rumoured to be Vista SP2 on steroids and more user friendly.

Regardless of what they do to "improve it "... there's not much likelihood that it couldn't be more user friendly... :D

can`t be too sure, but ...

long ago when i was at the university, we used NT 4.0 SP4 ...in a domain environment with roaming profiles

as i remember i had a specific resolution/desktop/etc ... which was activate no matter the computer

it happened that some people were making problems there by using very high resolutions that weren`t handled by the monitors, so we had to connect with R-Admin (Remote Administrator ) and set back to 1024*768 or 800*600 ...

or the way that we solved the problem that time ... connecting "blind" with local admin ..and removing the user profile from that c:\winnt\profiles ( hope i`m not wrong )
