Persistent update reminder: CAPICOM

    Hi! Every time I turn on my XP machine, the little yellow shield shows up in the lower-right corner: "Updates are ready for your computer ". The update turns out to be "Security update for CAPICOM (KB931906).

    I must have installed this darned update six times now, rebooting each time, but every time I power up again, up pops the reminder.

    Any suggestion how I can hit it on the head?

    I think if you go to the Windows Update there is an option to hide this update. Look under your update history......
