    Hi to all,
I've just upgraded my whole system to the specs below:
    ASRock M/Board: 4Core1333-FullHD
    Core2Duo E4500 cpu @2.2GHz
    4GB Ram (TakeMS take2 Dual Channel Kit DDR2 800 2x2GB)
250GB IDE 16Mb cache (bought for my older pc)
    Vista Business

    My performance index is:
    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz 5.1
    Memory (RAM) 4.00 GB 4.8
Graphics ATI Radeon Xpress 1200 Series 4.6
Gaming graphics 1791 MB Total available graphics memory 4.0
Primary hard disk 101GB Free (233GB Total) 5.5

I am not really bothered by the graphics index as I am using the onboard ATI X1250 chip and sharing 512MB or system ram. The only indexes I would like to better are the cpu and the memory. I am a little surpirsed to see the memory as 4.8 and the cpu at 5.1. I know of people with pc's of aobut a year or more that have much better scores for the cpu and the memory.

Is there some BIOS settings that could increase the memory and cpu score?

    Maybe ;)

Make sure you have the latest CPU & Chipset drivers installed.

Also have a look at your memory timings. I had set my memory timings to the recommended settings (by Corsair) for my motherboard, but started receiving BSOD's, so I changed back to the BIOS "Auto" setting. This gave me a memory score of 5.1

Last week I found an article that explained to set the voltage 0.25V higher (2.75V instead of the default 2.50V)*, so I did that, changed the timings again for better performance, and have been running fine ever since. My memory score improved to 5.3 (TWINX2048-3200C2PT 2GB DDR-400).

*) the Corsair site also lists the memory at 2.75V, I don't know why my MB would configure it at 2.50V

Just to note, the WEI (Windows Experience Index) score can be a weird thing:

    Desktop:

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 4.9
    Memory (2GB DDR-400 dual channel) 5.3
    Graphics (Nvidia 6800GT PCIe 256MB DDR3): 5.9
    Gaming Graphics 3.5
    Hard disk (Deskstar T7K250 160GB SATA2): 5.4

    Laptop:

    Intel Core 2 Duo (T7200 @ 2.0 GHz) 4.9
    Memory (2GB DDR2 333MHz) 4.5
    Graphics (Nvidia Quadro NVS 120M 256MB) 3.6
    Gaming Graphics 3.1
    Hard disk (Seagate Momentus 160GB SATA2: 5.4

I control my urge to improve anything. If my computer feels fast enough for me, it is good enough. I think WEI is a good revenue generator for the hardware manufacturers.

    Arie,

Tried increasing the memory voltage. My memory has an operating voltage of 1.8, I even sent an email to takeMS to verify. My m/b supports 1.8, 1.88, 1.96 and 2.04 with the latter used for "overclocking" the memory. 2.04 is 0.24v more than the normal. When I tried this the memory index didn't budge, so I put it back as there is no need to overwork the memory. Now I'm just accepting the fact of the performance index as is shown until I find some cash to get me a good vga.

At least that would improve the overall rating a bit.

Only increasing voltage wouldn't do anything, you'd have to change the timing too.
