I am looking for a software utility to convert .pdf files to another working format such as .txt or .doc. Or even to pick off the image from a .pdf file and convert it to an image format. I realize that many .pdf files are password protected but for the most part I believe they are not.
The purpose for the conversion is to be able to 'print' a more readable page after it is converted.
Maybe some of you have used this conversion software and have an opinion.
    Thanks
    Claire

msbooch --You do not need to convert .pdf documents to print them. The Reader toolbar as well as File|Print will allow you to print the document.
You can also select specific lines or images to print, by selecting one or the other and then clicking (fromthe Reader Toolbar) the down arrow next to the T (that will give you the option to select Text or Image). You then paste the selected item into an appropriate editor and print from there.
There are .pdf conversion tools, but you do not seem to need them for the stated purpose.

For starters my problem is that I am using Win98 and the Adobe version 5 is all that is accepted. So this kills using the version 6 which makes for the select text or images so much easier. I usually print the pdf files 'as is' which for the most part is o.k. but not when the symbols on the charts are so tiny and usually not the most clear.
So this is why I feel the need for a pdf conversion utility. I did find and read a previous message posted to this forum a few years ago. After working with it, I finally got it to work converting to .doc format.
After all I have tried to do, I feel the best bet is to just use a magnifying glass and all will become very clear.
    Thanks for your help.
