I have recently bought a GENIUS VIDEO WONDER CARDBUS DUAL supposed to
give me lots of possibilities on TV watching.
Unfortunately there is something not working well : when I start the software
that should activate the card, I receive an answer "Card not present ".
If I go to INFO32 utility, the card is included in the peripherals list and working properly !! How can it happen? Thanks to everyone who can give me some advice, Paolo

Hello Demaag and welcome to the BBS,

There will be a tier system of drivers you should investigate. You have run the driver and software installation program. I don't know Info32, so go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager, find the Genius card, right-click on it and select Uninstall. When you restart the computer, if the Windows Add New Hardware wizard asks where to find drivers, direct it to the card's driver/software CD.

No luck, higher up the driver ladder you can do the same for the PCMCIA Controller. Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers at restart, but if it can't, you will need to let it search the the driver disk that came with the computer and/or look for updated drivers for that controller at the manufacturer's website. If you cannot find individual drivers (PCMCIA controller drivers), they will be included with the chipset drivers.

I don't have a lot of experience with laptops, but this information won't hurt anything. If you find the drivers are not selected easily, it is probably because the wrong drivers are installed and you need to install the correct ones.

    Matt

Thanks a lot . I found a different (probably more recent) driver on the manufacturers' site and it works. Now the next step is to manage to detect a
signal. With the home antenna I manage to hear some noises but no images.
I'll go on trying. Bye, Paolo.
