    I know that I should have used my Intel Express Installer CD after reformating but........I have an Intel 915GAV motherboard. I have a yellow question/exclamation mark coming up against "PCI Input Device" in Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Other Devices. I'm sure that I have the disk or software to install this but I'm racking my brain to know what is the likely culprit. It is not a ghost item as I did have it previously installed. Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated. I have deleted this device and tried reinstalling with both Windows & the Internet search, with SP2. I have also tried updating a Promise Technology Ultra ATA/133 (Ultra 133 TX2) Controller - I have the most recent anyway. Please feel free to ask any further questions as I don't know what other information I need to provide. I have all the critical updates post SP2 installed & I have just updated my BIOS to the latest version as well as the Intel Chipset software version. Is there a Utility, other than "Unknown Device Identifier 4.00" (which doesn't help) that would pinpoint the ubiquitous yellow question mark(s) when a specific driver is required in the future?

    The exact error message under "Device Instance Id" of the "PCI Input Device" is:

    "PCI Input Device PCI\VEN_1102&DEV_7003&SUBSYS_00401102&REV_03\4&23C0B1C&0&11F0

    The drivers for this device are not installed ".

    Many thanks in anticipation.

    could be:

    1. modem
    2. sound card
    3. usb card
    4. nic

    look on the back of the computer for pci cards and see what's there.

    it can also be an onboard device that uses a pci bus, e.g built in sound, modem, nic, etc.

    nic = Network Interface Card
    (or onboard nic)
    'tis where a network cable plugs in
