An older Dell but with a fresh install of Win7 Home Premium 64-bit. It will discover a new mouse or keyboard but so far absolutely nothing when I put in a new video card, sound card or hard drive. One at a time or any order. If I try to add a device the only thing it sees is a network printer. I have never had this happen before and am kind of at a loss...

The video card came out another Dell Win7 machine and I know it works. The sound card is brand new and Win7 rated. The hard drive is brand new. (It also didn't find the older, already Win7 formatted H/D that I put in.)

Did you look in Device Manager and see if there are any Yellow ? or ! there? Are all the drivers installed on the PC?

Sorry, we went on vacation shortly after this post and I forgot about it. There were no yellow splats in device manager. I did manage to get everything installed manually with driver disks. The beast also doesn't recognize when a USB is inserted (at least it doesn't open the usual window asking what you want to do) but I can access them manually.

It is just a weather station / music server so now that everything is installed I am not going to worry much about it.
