Looks like you have a corrupted video driver - NVidia? see here

I suggest you re-install the video drivers.

The odds are that it is a software problem with your video drivers - possibly a card problem, unlikely to be a mobo problem.

I would remove the old drivers in Safe Mode (Add/Remove Programs and in Device Manager). Shutdown and reseat the card (they can get moved a lot from connecting the monitor). Reboot and install the new drivers.
That should rule out some of the minor causes.

Think back to other hardware or software you may installed before the problem. They maybe conflicting with your video. Remove or uninstall them (if you are not sure about removing hardware (drivers) see Windows Help).

    Check for viruses and sypware.

If it get's too bad you may consider reformating and reinstalling (if it is Win XP check your restore points).

I guess this is a m/c you put together yourself otherwise I would have it back with the supplier pronto.

You don't mention which OS you are using - I am guessing XP from the blue screens you have posted.

If so have you looked in Event Viewer for any System or Application Errors when you get the BSOD? Double click on error message to open it, click on the icon below the up/down arrows to paste to clipboard and paste here if appropriate.

cmaudio.sys does not seem to be a Windows file and is likely to be associated with your sound card. I would remove the sound card for a while and uninstall it's software and see if that cures the problem.

I still think you have a problem with the nvida drivers - from other threads on the board it seems they can be tricky. Search the board for nvida for some further help on this.

All that can be said at this stage is that your problem lies with either the mobo, video card and/or sound card, but bad memory can't be ruled out either.

If you have a couple of sticks and can sensibly run the m/c with just one I would try removing one, checking out the m/c and then substituting the other stick. Could be a bit long winded.

On the other hand run Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool

A couple of other points which come to mind ...

Have you loaded the motherboard drivers for the chip set?

If you have onboard video/audio have you disabled these via BIOS or jumpers?

    yeah xp pro,
theres nothin in the event viewer i checked that.

i was thinking mobo or mem problem too,

i might try to remove the sound car and see if it still happends, and yes onboard audio is disabled.

dont have anymore memory to test. :(

i will try the memory tester now. **DONE** didnt detect any problems.

On XP, the IRQ not less than equal sometimes means a memory problem. Pop the case and remove the memory sticks, one at a time if there are more than one. If there are two, make sure they match. Sometimes you get lucky and just reseating them is enough to resolve the problem. Good luck.

Won't even mention what I was thinking - that shouldn't be a problem in and of itself. Thanks

OK, OK - was somewhat speculating that you had your audio card in #1 - I forgive and am sorry to be a skeptic. Your 5 is most likely sharing an IRQ with USB - shouldn't be a problem - thus the tongue bite.
