Is your pc randomly rebooting itself? You can go to

Control Panel->System icon->Advance tab->Startup & Recovery Settings button. UNcheck/disable the "auto reboot" option. Instead of rebooting you'll probably get a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) which can be searched on for a solution.

You can go to http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 to search on for example: STOP 0x00000050

Hi, catkimball. Welcome to Windows BBS! :)

Once you have disabled the "Automatically restart" option in your Startup and Recovery window (Click the attached thumbnail below.) as Steve suggested above and you get BSODs, carefully follow the instructions in this link for getting more detailed (possibly helpful) information about your BSODs.

Also, be sure your system is configured to report erros as described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

Then read this 4-page article, Network World: "How to solve Windows system crashes in minutes" (specifically the last paragraph of page 3 and all of page 4).

The instructions referenced in the link I provided above will take care of most of the instructions in the first 3 pages of the Network World article for you. :)

If you want further assistance from us with your BSODs, please post your DebugWiz dump data information here for us to look at. Sometimes, we can quickly identify the cause of a BSOD with the information provided by DebugWiz.

Even if we cannot help you with your DebugWiz information, that information will probably be valuable in case you need to seek help from Microsoft's tech support personnel.

In any case, please follow up in this thread with details of your success (or lack of success) with resolving your problem so other people with similar problems who read this thread might benefit. :)
