    Hi all.

I put my PC into hibernation. When i restart windows the words "resuming windows" appear, and after the that it lead to a black blank screen. I believe the windows is still running under the blank screen because i could hear some sounds from Windows. The only way i could get the PC to work again is to hold down the power button to turn off the PC, turn it on again, delete restoration and load windows again.

This just happened recently, it was fine before. I have not update or install any new software. Maybe the windows upgrade or something?

    Any tips is appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello ndnguyen01,

The Hibernation file may be corrupted. To test that, disable Hibernation > reboot, and re enable it. That will delete the current file and create a new one.

When you say "PC" do you mean a desktop or laptop computer?

If Windows still seems to be active, you should be able to Shutdown by:
    doing Ctrl+Alt+Del
pressing the Tab key three times
    then press Enter

Has it "lost" the display brightness?

    Is Sleep available?
If you have "Driver Updates" set in Windows Updates, it may have changed drivers (I advise against letting Windows Updates update any drivers). Look at reinstalling original drivers for the motherboard chipset and graphics/display adapter (or find the downloads at the manufacturer's website).

Is there any difference between manually putting the computer into sleep/hibernation and letting Windows do it automatically (I use the latter)...by setting Power Options in Control Panel.

Check what programs are open/running when you put it to "sleep ". If you have many programs open it will be harder for the system to resume. Try right-clicking on icons in the Notification Tray and closing them before you put it into hibernation.

    Matt
