Hey all, i have a friend who has a Vista based PC and he is having some issues with the sleep mode. Now i have to admit i never use sleep i just turn my monitor off so i don't really have much clue with these problems.

The problem is that after precisely 30seconds of it being in sleep mode it will automatically wake up again by itself. He doesn't touch anything the PC just comes out of sleep as i just said. He has also got a BT Homehub setup and i was wondering if its this that is causing the PC to come out of the sleep state it is in? I have had a quick look through the event viewer but there aren't any errors listed there so my only conclusion is that something (possibly a program) is making it come out of sleep mode, but its strange that its precisely after 30seconds. He has all the latest windows updates installed etc.

Any ideas would be muchly appreciated :)

not as far as i noticed but will check tomorrow, i have an inkling towards it being a program kicking in thats waking the PC up from the sleep mode, but its just strange that its 30seconds precisely which is the bit thats bugging me

    Hi,

go to My Computer--->properties--->hardware--->apparatus management and check all the hardware properties.....
Now some of them have a tablad called "energieproperties "
An this tab disable the "allow this apparatus to wake up the computer" .(or something like it)
Check this for all your hardware components!
    That's all!

    Good luck.
