How do I protect just one sub-folder?

I want the rest of the family to have access to most things on my computer and in my profile except for one folder where i put formatted work and private mattters.

I think I last used passwords in windows 95 and thats a while back.

Win XP home edition, seems to want to protect everything under my profile. That would mean many hundreds of folders and tens of thousands of files. I just want to protect one sub folder with a simple family proof password.

all this reference to screen savers and networks seems unnecessary- I hope. I dont see why it can't be simple; but then perhaps I am just being simple

    Is there a solution?:( :(
