Does anyone know if it is possible to password protect individual folders in XP SP-2. I would like to keep snoops out of my folder with financial data, but don't want to be bothered with having to enter passwords for all my other folders in Explorer to access them.

    Thanks
    Floyd

Thanks Pete. I like the idea of using a zip folder in the first item of the Google search. Also while I was waiting for a reply I played around and realized I can hide the folder in Explorer also which in my case should work very well also.
Thanks again. I can always count on you guys for help.

You're welcome :) Glad you found something to suit you.

FWIW - I use Quicken 2000 (still :)) - password protected. My other financial files are in password protected Excel workbooks.

Be warned that this is a very powerful product and if you do not pay attention will encrypt your entire hard drive. It does also have the datacrypt function .

Nice thing here is you can create virtual drive up to 30MB which is encrypted and just save all files to it.
