Password Problems

I have two systems, both identicle with respect to Netscape 7.2.
I use the same name (janedoe@netscape.net) on both machines. as a secondary Email service.

Obviously I use the same password also......One system is a laptop
used when on the road. For no apparent reason the laptop gives me an error.
"Name and/or password incorrect or Invalid "...I Have to my knowledge changed nothing.......I did download and review Netscape 8 (beta) but promptly removed it..........Any help please......RTM

On the laptop, go to Edit | Preferences | Privacy & Security | Passwords
Click on the "Manage Stored Passwords" tab
Delete the Mail Password
Close Netscape

Now Start Netscape Mail & Newsgroups, and enter your Password again. Did you get an error?

A few questions:
When you uninstalled Netscape 8, did you do so using Add/Remove?
Did you uninstall Netscape 7.2 before installing Netscape 8, or did you run them both?
Did you share the Profile with the two browsers?

Restarted NS Same error?????????

I did not uninstall NS7 Prior.

This makes it very confusing now. But if you mean 7.2 and 8, it does not apply. They can't share profiles, although NS8 can use 7.2 settings, I suppose.
Are accessing Webmail at the website, or are you trying to access it in 7.2 mail.
If you stored the password, you view it in the Privacy, etc. If you did not store, and you tried Webmail site as well as Netscape mail, and get the same results....

The creation of the confusion is named "GRANDSON" who was threatened with leg and other parts possibly being removed. The laptop was at his disposal without permission....Hence a new (his) password had been entered.
All has been corrected...Sorry for loss of your valuable time..TNXS RTM
