   when I boot up my windows 98 I get a window that requests a user id and password. I cancel it and boot up continues. How may I get rid of this password window?

   Search you pc for *.pwl files. Delete all that are found. Next time you reboot you'll be prompted to enter a password. Don't enter anything to create a blank password.
