I've heard that XP actually prefers one partiton only. Any help on this before I go buy Partiton Magic 7.0??

I have heard nothing to that effect. I am running XP on a 40 gig single partitioned drive and it goes like a striped ape.

I'm not much of a partitioning fan except where necessary to overcome a bios limitation or install a dual boot system.

If anything, I would expect XP to work better on a smaller partition sometimes due to the reduced size of the FAT.

Good luck whatever you elect to do.

I use partition magic 7 & bootmagic for dual O/S. No prob in winxp. Cavet: don't let the cluster size fall below 8kb on small partition or u mite get "outa memory errors" when defraging:)
