    Hello,

My manager wants me to setup a mirrored RAID for an install of SBS2003. He wants 4 primary dynamic partitions to be setup on the RAID, as follows:-

C: for OS install and boot partition
D: for page file and active log files
    E: for applications
F: for all data files including exchange databases and users data

Any idea on the best way to do this.

    Kind regards,
    Jeff

You can set your C Partition at install (1024 per gig) then set your other partitions in Disk management after the install is complete.

    Thanks Scott for your reply.

If I do as suggested, how do I install the Exchange databases to drive F if drive F won't been created during the install of SBS2003?

    Many thanks,
    Jeff

Jeff it's been a while since I did a SBS install but I think basic server is complete before you go to disk 2 with all the SBS stuff. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If the page files and activity logs are being put on a seperate partition to improve performance, I think you'll find if anything this will slow the system. They need to be on a seperate hard drive to get better performance. Not just a seperate partition. Have a look at this article
