Hopefully someone has run into this problem or can help me.
I had installed a seperate partition on an XP machine then after
a while of using it and running out of space decided to delete it.
I now have a drive with 2 gig of space and 28 gig of unallocated space.
When I try to either merge or recover the unallocated space I get this error:
"error 2003 While executing batch "
"error 2003 File size does not match FAT allocation for file "
If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it

    Thanks,
    Sean

Hi SeanGil - Welcome to the Board :)

If in doubt or up the creek without the proverbial - Read the Manual :D

From Partition Magic 7 manual - expect 8 is the same ......

#2003 File size does not match FAT allocation for file.

Run Scandisk or CHKDSK to fix this error.

    As you have XP ....

    Start > Run > chkdsk

    chkdsk

I did see that and tried it but chkdsk came up with no errors.

OK - let's try to recover the unallocated space using XP .....

Right click My Computer icon > Manage > Disk Management

You should see your hard drive with the 2 Gb partition shown and the balance as Unallocated Space.

See what you can do with the right click menu - right click on the unallocated space.
