Have a client that her cat knocked her laptop on the floor and shattered her 2 usb connections other than that machine is working just fine. What I am looking for if it is even made is a 25male pin parallel cable to usb.

Want to be able to connect the parallel cable to the back of the laptop with the other end being the usb so she can hock her camera to it and download pictures, etc. I see they make parallel cable to usb but it connects to the printer itself I need it to connect to the laptop.

Is it even made if so does anyone know where to get one. Every site I have looked at the device connects to the printer.

    Thanks.

You could always go with a USB PCMCIA card if her laptop has a slot for the card.

I wish theyd show a better picture of the parallel part it looks like its the part that goes into the printer plus the fact that it says it has 36 pins and I believe the parallel port on back of computers is a 25pin connector.

    What ya think ???

Yes, it does have a pcmcia x 2. Never even thought of that possibility. The pictures of the parallel to usb all look like the connection that goes to the printer especially when it says 36pins and the part should be 25pins to the computer.

You're right - I can't locate Parallel port > USB cables, plenty of USB > Parallel for printers - I have one. May well not be possible technically.

Pcmcia sounds the best (only) route.

    Pete hi,
sorry to hijack this for one moment, but I was just wondering a friend of mine asked me she wants to buy one of those 3 in one printer scanner fax things and it has only USB connection on it, but her PC has no USB connectors would a cable like that one in your link- Parallel to USB work.
