I'm not sure where to post this so I'm placing it here.

I have an old Laser Jet 4M that only has a parallel port interface but works just fine. Fairly shortly, I'll be getting a new desktop that 1) doesn't have a parallel port and 2) will be running Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

My question is whether the parallel to USB cables I see available will work and if there is a brand or type that is recommended. I know there's a Vista 32bit driver that works because I've successfully printed with a Vista notebook that is connected via wireless to my home network.

    Thanks,

    B. Berkov

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

I have run a parallel port printer off a Belkin USB adaptor cable in the past on XP, but your major headache is finding a 64 bit driver. Search for that first - I have a feeling that you are unlikely to be successful.
