I experienced a problem yesterday which I thought was worth sharing.
My Huawei U8800 X5 started the loop - Shutdown and Restart - all on it's own.
I had no control over it. If I tried to shut down the phone normally - it went blank screen, then all of a sudden it would start again.

I pulled the battery so that it would shut down completely and then put the battery back in and it self-started again.
This time I pulled the battery out and became aware that the HB4F1 battery was feeling a little swollen in the middle (indicated 97% charged).
I fitted my spare battery in and all was back to normal.

The deformity in the battery was hardly noticeable so if anyone experiences this problem - CHECK the BATTERY for swelling! Neil.

A swollen battery is not something to play around with. It is very unsafe since it can leak and damage the device or, even worse, explode and start a fire.

Well aware Doc. It has been disposed of in approved manner. It was not a very noticeable change in the shape. Just sliding the battery through my fingers it didn't feel flat or equal thickness. Neil.

I thought I would share this little event as the deformation was really miniscule and just shows how problems can be elusive.
I contribute to another Forum where a member was having the Restart problem with his phone and ironically I experienced the same problem he had but his has to do with him Rooting his phone and changing the ROM. Neil.
