Hi, I have a problem (hence why I am here):

In order to create games in an online game (Warcraft 3) I used DMZ in order to open the necessary ports. I originally attempted Port Forwarding but that was unsuccessful.

This solved the problem, but also opened my computer to viruses and the like, and I was attacked by what I believe to be the sasser worm. So to protect myself I got Panda’s Titanium 2006 antivirus/antispyware program.

This solved my new problem, but it un-solved my old one. I am back to being able to JOIN games in Warcraft 3, but not able to MAKE them. This is because of Panda’s firewall.

I went into the firewall settings with hopes of making a rule/exception for Warcraft 3, but couldn’t figure out how (if it is even possible).

I did notice something interesting however. Some programs, such as BitComet or Trillian had both outbound and inbound connections allowed through the firewall, while others only had outbound connections allowed, Warcraft 3 being one of them.

My theory is that Warcraft 3 needs inbound connections allowed to create games online. My problem is that I can’t figure out how to allow Warcraft 3 inbound connections through the firewall. A simple way to fix my problem would be to disable the firewall whenever I want to make games, but I would much rather have my computer constantly protected. Any help to add an inbound rule would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance! :)

(As a side note, I posted this here because it is a problem with the firewall, not with the game. Also, no more information should be needed unless the information pertains to the firewall, but if more info is needed let me know and I will be happy to add some)

Open Panda. Click on Settings to the left. Click on Automatic protection settings then Firewall protection. Click Connection permission settings. Uncheck Automatically assign connection permissions (recommended). When that is unchecked you are now able to select the connection option at the right by clicking the drop down arrow. Your choices will be No connection, Outbound (Client), Inbound and Outbound or Inbound (Server). Once you have set all of your programs connection permissions you can recheck the box Automatically assign...... then click OK-OK-Back and close Panda. Your settings will be remembered.
