Paint Shop Pro 7.01 wouldn't open, said I was missing MSVCIRT.DLL. Checked Win98 SE operating system, and sure enough, it's there in Windows/System folder (there's another in MS Office)...

Have re-re-reinstalled PSP from several different discs - even looked for the missing DLL on the discs - all to no avail.

    Any hlep out there?

As always, thanking you in advance.

    mbcannon2,

I went through this with some programs too. That is one reason that if I have to do a complete new re-install of the OS & everything. I make sure I install all of my programs by the age of the program. Like I have two versions of Print Shop, and I like both versions for different things. I have to install the older version first to prevent problems. If I installed the newer one first, then the installation of the older one would mess up the .dll's of the newer one.

I can give you another tip on PSP. If it ever gets to where it gives you the, "This Program Has Performed An Illegal Operation And Will BE Shut Down, " thing every time you try to open PSP, just go into the registry, & remove PSP's folders from the registry, under HKEY_LOCAL _MACHINE\Software, and under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software. Then boot back up. It will act as if PSP as been newly installed. Now this little gem came straight from PSP Techinal Support. I did it, & it worked!

You're welcome. Of course, if you ever have to do that, you will have to re-do all of PSP's settings, but it is so much better than uninstallling it, & editing the registry, & then re-installing it again.

A lot less complicated, & time consuming.

I had another different problem to crop up with PSP awhile back. Don't remember the exact details of the problem, but I used that same little gem again, & it solved that problem too. :)
