pagefile and hiberfil

    I just ran chkdisk and noticed 2 files I had not seen before. They are:
    pagefile.sys
    hiberfil.sys
    What are these for? They are very large files.

    pagefile.sys - this is your Page File, aka Swap File.

    hiberfil.sys - this is the Hibernation area used when your computer Hibernates. AFAIK only seen when Hibernation is enabled.
