I had to have some work carried out on my computer today, and after completion had to re-install my Broadband software.
Now I find that instead of smooth scrolling down a page, the contents of the page go down in jerks or jumps - can this be reverted to smooth scrolling?

    Hi,
If you are using Internet Explorer, open up the internet options by clicking tools at the top of the internet explorer window and selecting Internet Options...
Then click on the Advanced tab. Scroll down the list and make sure there is a tick in the box 'Smooth Scrolling'

    HTH,

Hi Johnl - Welcome to the Board :) . We 'meet again' - so to speak!

This thread has a lot in common with your problem ....

    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=20868

You may well have picked up a bit of malware or a trojan somewhere.

From Quicklinks in my signature download Ad-aware, immediately update it and configure it as shown here . Download Spybot and immediately update it. These updates refer to the reference files similar to virus definitions. Run both - delete all Ad-aware finds and all items found by Spybot which are flagged red - those items in green are usage tracks and deletion is optional.

If this solves the problem - fine, if not download and run CWShredder (the Quicklinks URL for CWShredder is down - probably another Denial of Service attack). Ad-aware and Spybot are not too good at removing Cool Web Search which could well be the cause of your problems.
