    Using Firefox as a browser and Yahoo for homepage, when reading articles on the page, it will automatically refresh itself every little bit of time.
    How do I change this? Possibly a setting I missed? Thanks

    There is no setting in Firefox, and if there is any refreshing it must be from the website. I have My Yahoo open in another tab, and I don't see anything
    which would disturb my viewing. I have set up my website contents properties to inform me of the time of the update. The most recent was for Stocks, which I care little about.
    Do you have constant refreshing? If something is unclear, there is a feedback at the top to fill.
    I, really, like the new My Yahoo.

    It's called the Meta Refresh tag. For example, go to Google News and then click View | Source (in IE). The tag:
    Code:

    <meta  HTTP-EQUIV= "refresh" CONTENT= "900 ">

    will cause that page to automatically refresh every 900 seconds (15 minutes).

    That is what I was saying when I said that it comes from the website.
    I am looking at another website, and the equivalent line is: <meta http-equiv= "Refresh" content= "300;URL=/index.html "/> or every 5 minutes. I could not even find anything in My Yahoo.
    Are you just explaining why this is happening, or telling that one could change the rate of refreshing?
    I, certainly, would not want to make changes, with a news site, even if possible. I would close the page.

    Just explaining why it's happening.

    And AFAIK, no, it can't be changed, (unless you have webmaster access to that site's server of course). :)

    There's an extension available that's called RefreshBlocker that's supposed to block the meta refresh tag. I've never used it myself so I can't tell you much about it but you can check it out if you want.
