Page Ranges Won't Print in Word

I'm running Word 2002 with Windows XP Professional. When I try to print a page range, i.e. page 3-5 or 2,3,4, in a 10 page document, nothing happens. Nothing goes to the print que. I have to print the entire document to get those few pages. This is a new document, nothing imported from another program. I also had this problem on a computer that I used to use at work a few years ago and we never did figured out what the problem was then either. Has anyone else ever encountered this problem?

 

If you've tried a repair of the Word program (on the Help menu in Word, click Detect and Repair) and you have the latest drivers for the printer, then you are probably looking at an issue with the printer itself. Hard to say.

Couple of things to try.
- Set up a generic, text-only printer for the device and see if it has problems as well. Try with a text-only document since the generic thing doesn't deal well with fancies.
- Set up a text-file printer and print to that. It won't use the printer at all. Again, a text-only document is your best test item.
