Page order probs with HP Photosmart c3180

HI, wonder if anyone can help?

A friend of mine has an Acer 5000 notebook running Windows XP and has just bought a HP Photsmart C3180 all in one printer.

Problem is we cannot get pages to print in the right order. There is an option in printing preferences to change layout eg front to back; back to front but this doesn't appear to be working.

Printing always starts at last page and works forward - what a pain!!!

I know she could just pick page range for each document, but there must be a way to start at the beginning.

Any suggestions???

Hi,
Since it is supposed to print that way, I would first suspect the software. I would uninstall and reinstall the software

Method one

1.
Disconnect the unit from the computer. Do not connect the unit to the computer until after the software has been reinstalled.
2.
Press the On ( ) button to turn off the unit.
3.
Click Start .
4.
Click Programs or All Programs .
5.
Click HP .
6.
Click Photosmart All-In-One C3100 series and then click Uninstall .
7.
Follow the instructions that display on the screen.
8.
If asked to remove shared files, click No . Other programs that use these files might not work properly if the files are deleted.
9.
Restart the computer.

Method two
Use this method if Uninstall is not available in the Windows Start menu.

1.
Disconnect the unit from the computer.
2.
Click Start .
3.
Click Settings .
4.
Click Control Panel .
5.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs .
6.
Select your product and then click Change/Remove .
7.
Follow the instructions that display on the screen.
8.
Restart the computer.

Method three
Use this method if Uninstall is not available in the Windows Start menu.

1.
Disconnect the unit from the computer.
2.
Insert the green Windows software CD into the CD-ROM in the computer. If the startup screen does not display, use the following steps to display the startup screen manually:
1.
Click Start .
2.
Click Run . The Run dialog box displays.
3.
In the Open: text box, type D:\setup.exe , where D is the letter of the CD-ROM drive, and then click OK .
3.
Select Uninstall and then follow the instructions that display on the screen.
4.
Restart the computer.

When you restart, install the software again [you may need to wait until you are told to connect the printer during the installation].

If you had other printers and software installed previously, you may need to look for those and use their uninstallers.

Uninstalling and reinstalling fixes many printer problems. [If it keeps coming back, try running the uninstall in Windows Safe Mode.]

I could not find information relating to your problem though.
