Pacific Northwest Coastie

My wife and I live along the Oregon coast. From our deck we can see the Pacific to the west (about a thousand meters distant) and the Coastal Range to the east (a half mile). I took a year off teaching in 97 and bought a computer to fill in the time. By 98 the Bd of Educ. gave us a window to retire early (and I took it... after all, 32 years teaching was enough, thank you very much). Today I work part-time in a bookstore (just lovin' it!) to stay out of trouble and primarily since I hated retirement. I also keep in touch with family and friends via the internet which is why I come to WinBBS... to keep me informed. I could ask my wife's son in Seattle for help; after all, he's one of those distinguished software engineers for Microsoft, but I'd rather try and figure things out for myself. LOL

 

Hi Northwest Coastie, I'm on the north end of your Coastal range, sort of, we just call 'em the Cascades where they rise out of the ground again. Or is yours tectonic? while ours is volcanic. Crater Lake down your way, in the farther east range, is a majestic sight. The Great Northwest!
