I am using IE 5.5 SP1 and Outlook Express 5.5 and I now cannot insert a picture in a e-mail. When I try I get an Error Message:
An error has occurred in this dialog
    Error 195
'undefined is null or not an object

This just started not working a few days ago. I have just recently installed the March 28 cumulative patch security downloads from microsoft. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a fix for Outlook Express? Thank you

    Hi 4harpers,
I've ran into this problem a few times...and each one was solved differently, so here goes a couple of them:

    What Billy has to say

Try making a new folder in My Documents, and paste the picture into it. Compose your message, navigate to the new place it resides. Alternately, do the opposite, if it's in a folder in My documents, pull it out and put it in just My Documents. Try to navigate to it.

Lastly... it's been known to happen most to 5.5 You could try going up to IE 6.0?

Thanks for your quick respones. No it did not work. I created a new folder and tried to paste it rom there, o luck, same error message. It will allow me to attach it as a attachment that would have to be opened to viewed, but will not insert it in the message. Any other ideas? The link was for IE 5.5 SP2 and I have SP1. Thanks

    Hi again 4harpers.
Is there a particular reason you're opposed to updating to IE 5.5 SP2 ?

Yes, there is. When I updated to SP2 my cd rom would lock up the computer when I tried to play a game or run a cd program. I have "Go Back" installed and went back to SP1 and everything workd OK. Strange problem. Any other idea? Thanks for your help.

Thank you for all your help and I would like to take you up on fixing the cd rom problem sometime. I fixed the insert picture problem. Here is what I did. I went to "Tools, Options, Security, and moved Outlook express from the restriced zone to the internet zone and everything works just fine. If you have any ideas on what could be wrong with SP2 and my cd rom problem please post. Thank you again for all your time and help.
