Can anyone tell me what is causing an Error Message in Outlook and how to fix it? It occurs most frequently in Outlook though it does happen in Word, Note & probably Excel.

Outlook will star up and once it's open, I'll get a message box that says: "We're sorry, but Outlook has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. Outlook will need to be closed as a result. Would you like us to repair now?" The options are 'Repair', 'Help', and 'Close'. 'Help' is no help at all. Clicking 'Repair' does whatever it does & then Outlook shuts down. "Close causes Outlook to shut down.

Usually a simple restart does the trick. Today, I have gone through 3 restarts with no luck. I've attached an image of the message to this Post.

If your System Info is correct-maybe you should install XP SP3!!! You are running MS gear which has been superseded.

Don't think so. I'm running Win 10 1607. I'll admit that its been a while since I've updated SYSINFO. A long while.

OK. It does pay to update your System specs as your Thread indicates. Someone who uses Outlook may look in and assist. Have you tried W10 Troubleshoot?

Did a search & found a MS Page that walked me though the repair steps. It wound up reinstalling Office 365. The first time I started Outlook, it croaked, same as before. 2nd, time it came up & stayed up. Gonna call it quitz for today & leave my system up. We'll see how it is in the AM.

Major question: Where do I modify the system specs? It's been a while.

Above your Avatar near the top right side of the page, click on the chess looking knight thing and go from there.

Was able to update a few things. The rest will require crawling around under the desk & squinting.

BTW, no problems w/ Outlook so far.

Well, I can certify that the reinstall did not help things much. I still get the same message when I start up but only once, so far.

Are you up to date with all of W10 updates? What Build and Version are you running?

Windows 10 Home ver 1607 last updated on Fri w/ KB3199986. Not sure of the build. This has been going on for a couple of months.
