outlook shows attachments when there is not one

    Can someone please explain to me why does outlook express sometimes show an email attachment (paper clip icon) when there is no attachment? It is confusing.

    If you open the mail do you see a yellow bar stating that the attachment was blocked?

    Hi JBH, I have noticed that some incoming e-mails I have had show the paper clip but no attachement. This may be a result of the mail on the outgoing computer being scanned by a virus checker. It seems to me that I have received several e-mails scanned by AVG when they were sent and they had the paperclip but no attachment. On these e-mails there should be a statement at the bottom that they were scanned when sent.

    Maybe someone else can comment on this.
