    Hi

Have a brand new computer running Windows XP with office
    XP SP1.

Am having problems connecting the outlook client in
office XP to the Exchange 5.5 server. When I enter the
server name and user ID I get the "Requesting Data from
Microsoft Exchange server window and the blue bar moves
very very slowly across the window.

The exchange server is a single NT domain controller with
Echange 5.5 installed upon it. The new computer is
attatched to the network and I can browse shares.

But I cant get the office outlook to attatch to exchange?

Dont think that exchange 5.5 is serviced packed.

Anyone have any ideas. Thanks in advance

    Vortigern

    You need to update 5.5.

Take a look Here for some good information. Most of the major issues they speak of are with Outlook 2003 but you should be able to get a feel for the current conditions and they do have links to 5.5. SP4 as well as a post-SP4 hot fix.
