:( I recently had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall the operating system , etc. My friend saved my files but I cannot figure out how to reinstall the files for OUTLOOK on the new setup. THese would include "contacts ", saved "emails ", fmy "folders ", etc. Can anyone give any help on this or direct me to a SIMPLE site?

    thanks

    Hi again John.
If it's alright, I'll post your note here, so that others can hop in and help?
I'll see what I can dig up for you....but it's not looking like the files were saved properly?
I'd be looking for a .pst file or .pab file to use the import feature with?
    See here?

Yeah, the PST file would be what you need to restore all your Outlook information such as Contacts, Calendar, Inbox, Notes, Sent Items, Tasks, any folders you created, etc... If you did not specify the name of your PST file it should be named outlook.pst by default. If cannot fine the PST file on the backup CD then I'm afraid you're going to be out of luck. :(

    Private Message from John:
You can do it two different ways. One would be to go File -> Import and Export and import the PST. The second way is to go to put the PST where you'd like it to reside. Click Tools -> Services, click "Add ", select Personal Folders and point it to your saved PST.

    outlook problem

have you tried to go to file, import, messages, click your mail program, hold the CTRL button and select the folders you want imported, and click ok. Does that help?
