Hi, something strange happened this morn. I received a mail and did'nt even oven it and my outlook express completely froze, mouse and all. Then the screen goes red and the computer reboots. I thought it was a bug so I ran updated AVG and Housecall. Nothing! I deleted outlook express in control panel and reinstalled but same prob. Any thoughts?

Search the drive for "inbox.dbx" (make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is checked in My Computer>Tools>Folder Options>Advanced tab). When you find it, move it to another location...My Documents is where I usually put it.

Then try opening OE. If it opens (there will be nothing in the inbox), then it was a corrupted inbox file. If you want to try to get the old messages back, you can use OE's File>Import feature. Tell it to import messages from a store folder and then point it at that inbox.dbx file you moved as the file to import from, to see if it can retrieve any messages from the inbox file you moved.

Miz, it's working but can't retrieve the inbox. It's in "my documents" in a folder as you said. Just won't import.
    thanks

Likely it is corrupted as Miz noted. You could try DBXtract to try and salvage some of the messages.
