Is there any advantage to using OE instead of MSN/Hotmail?

Does making OE the default email mail provider? client? (I'm never sure which term to use) mean that email can't be received in MSN?

Do I have to change my email address to use OE?

I can't send scanned items via email using MSN, but OE should work, and I would like to do that.

    Any advice?

I'm curious as to why you can't send scanned items with MSN/Hotmail. I have done it many times. Are they over the 1MB size limit? If so you can either resize them with something like Irfanview or pay for the extra storage which allows up to 3MB attachments.

OE allows you to use more than 1 identity, which means you can import and check other mail accounts without signing in/out. I can check my @msn, @hotmail and @comcast mail all within OE. And you can still sign directly into those accounts outside of OE.

    Outlook Express

Both PaperPort and Epson Smart Panel list the email clients you can use, and MSN/Hotmail is not included in eiather list. I'd be glad to hear what steps you take (assuming you use either of these programs) in scanning to email.

    Thanks.
