At times all my messages appear to have attachments of my messages. When I try to open attachment I get message " Outlook Express " The Command failed to Execute. This happens to all emails I have in my Computer.

After a while they all comeback and are readable when I open them. What am I doing wrong?

boblesp--I have not seen that particular message, and I am not sure what you mean by the second "my" in your first sentence. But this might be the quickest solution. Click OE Tools|Options|Security tab. Be sure the box "Do not allow attachments..." is unchecked.
Post back if no success and elaborate on your first sentence.
It is also possible that the problem is at the sender's end. From OE Help
"If message recipients are not able to view your inserted images, on the Tools menu, click Options. Click the Send tab, click HTML Settings, and then make sure that Send pictures with messages is selected. Then resend your message. "

What I mean by the second "my" in the first sentence is that the wording on the body of my email is now an attachment.

Does this make sense to you?

By the way before I could do anything, everything seems to now be back to normal.

I am puzzled. I will use suggested solution if it happens again

Yes, I understand what you have said. Weird.
If you rebooted, that often is a fine "cure "!!
