When I create an email and click send Outlook Express will either give me a rejection for an invalid email address (which it is not) and/or take an unusually long time to send the message. Previously, (about a week ago it would send quickly) now it goes to my outbox and either gets rejected and/or take several minutes to send the message. I have checked mmy account (2) settings and deleted several .dbx files that were quite large. Your suggestions for resolution of this problem will be appreciated.

It may be your ISP's mail server instead of something in your software. Give them a call and see how good their support is. ;)

If they aren't having any problems then you can uninstall and reinstall OE. It's in the Windows Components of add/remove programs.

Thanks for your reply, removal and reinstall is my last option.
I have been in touch with tech support and they helped check my settings for the two accounts I have.
I suspect anti virus and have just turned off the mail monitoring in avast and need to run some trials. I am receiving mail very fast and mailwasher is working fine for incoming mail. I also have to check spyware blaster and Search and destroy to see if either is causing the problem.
Then comes Outlook Express removal and reinstall.

Called ISP tech support again today and they admitted to having email problems. They have now recovered and mail send is much better today althoulgh not as good as I remember in the past. Think I will do nothing further on this situation. Thanks for your suggestions and help

And the beat goes on... often the problem isn't from within but from without and when it comes to problems, I prefer mine to be without. ;)

    Thanks for the feedback hawkeye.
