To start with, very nice site

My question. My brother just got a new Dell desktop. When he is in Internet Explorer and goes to check his e:mail it redials his connection when he's already online. I'm going up there this weekend and would appreciate some ideas of what to look for when I get there. Thanks

In outlook go to tools. Then options. Connections. Check ask before switching dial-up. Also do a right click on the internet explorer icon. Click properties then click connections. Set his current dial up connection as default. Make sure there is not duplicates.

One more suggestion. Click tools>accounts and click on the mail tab. Double click on the mail account you're talking about and on the connection tab, uncheck the box next to the line that says always connect to this account using.

Zander hit it right on the head. The always connect to this account was checked. Cleared that and it solved the problem. Thanks for your help.
