Resolved Outlook Express receiving mail I deleted 3 mo ago

    All of a sudden in XP, I had problems sending mail. I went to accounts and the port settings had changed. I deleted my account and re-installed it and after several tries it finally worked. Now it is showing receiving over 5000 messages dated last January (over 5 months ago) I remember deleting most of them at that time. I am running scans right now just to check for infection, but I think my version is 6.

    Any chance you had OE set to retain mail on the server? Might explain why thet have been downloaded again.

    I finally had to logon to the webmail server and delete all those old messages and re-install the alias...Thanks for the help
