    This is really strange.

I know the problem is not with OE itself, but I am at a loss for another forum to post this.

I installed NOD32 v3.0.551.0. Since installation I have to click my OE shortcut twice to run OE. The first time I click I get a 'ding' sound. The second time I click it runs.

Figuring it might be an issue with the shortcut, I recreated a new one. No joy.

There is no mention of this problem at Eset's website.

Is anyone else here experiencing this? If so, is there a solution? If so, what?

    Thank you.

I have just upgraded to NOD32 v3 without the issue you mention - OE is setup to start automatically on boot - and it does. Closing OE and using the Quicklaunch icon or Desktop icon works first time too.

At this time I have no suggestions to remedy bar re-registering OE and it's associated library files as detailed in this article .....

An Outlook Express Basic Repair kit.

    Thank you both.

I am sure it is not an OE problem. If I remove NOD32, OE operates perfectly. No clicking the shortcut more than once, no delays closing. Perfect behavior from OE.

This means that I need to look at my NOD32 install.

I'll report back if I find anything worth reporting.

    Thanks, again.
